I like the tweaking of motivation when you flipped the POV. (Reminds me of what I did with my remix last year.)
The part I really like the insight about Spike. It's the loss of Buffy and Angel that bothers him - the feeling of not having anybody who wants him on their team/in their family. No wonder he responds to Willow's request. Yes, he likes her enough to help her, but it seems like he's hungry to be needed.
For me, the fact Willow and Oz are willing to go to all this trouble is as fabulous if not better than Buffy showing up.
