Of the various remixes I’ve read, this is the first to simply expand the original story, fill in some details, round out the dialogue and characterization, and finish without having changed anything significant.
Many successful remixes leave the original author saying something like, “This is the story I was trying to write in the first place.” In this case, I think it’s more like, this is the story the original author would have written if she’d given it a little more time and thought. In other words, also a success, but of a different type.
I agree, the side-note about Dana in True Lies was a cute, funny touch.
Finally — and, honest, I’m not privy to any inside information on this just because she’s my daughter — I suspect sroni to be the remix author.
