Oh, poor Doctor. I don't think I've actually read a story set during the Time War before and I like your descriptions of what the Doctor is doing. It seems very likely that he'd be spending more time cleaning up the mess than leading direct attacks.
The whole thing with the Master is lovely, the sense of longing and loss and the way he doesn't quite give up hope even when he has too much common sense to indulge in it. And the ending breaks my heart. Lovely Fic.
