Oh...poor John, poor Rodney. I think you may have broken them more fully than I did in the original.
I *love* that this story started when John was small, and that you went to the alternate universe place. Knowing John can go away when he chooses took some of the sting out of the accountant!verse for me, at least for *this* John, until I realized it's going to suck for some version of John no matter what, and that poor Rodney is stuck in each of the universes, and...ow. Poor things.
(Which is all my long-winded way of saying thank you; I love it when fic makes me think, and it's awesome that this is what you came up with!)
