Oh, hee, this was great. Chase's bewilderment, the way he's trying too hard on the one hand, but it's all because it's new, and his, on the other. I love the contrast with the original, the difference in the way Chase and Cameron think: the juxtaposition really works to characterize both of them. This line made me lol: The display outside the garden centre had tried to squeeze all the stereotypes of Christmas in one place and, frightening enough, had succeeded. And this one: He grabbed the nearest box that didn’t look like it had been designed by someone on drugs. Enjoyed it muchly!
