This is gorgeous. I love the way you take snippets of Obi-Wan's life and thinking from the original sentences and weave them together into a whole picture of his life on Tatooine.

He can't remember Anakin trying to give him any presents after that, but he's still not sure whether Anakin understood what he meant.

That was the line that hooked me; it is so true a picture of Obi-Wan and Anakin's relationship and the layers of misunderstandings between them.
