Oh, this is lovely.... The back story is fantastic, and the feelings between the two of them are so intense.

This bit in particular is nice: John's nothing like Pegasus; he takes only what he's willing to give, and he never learned how to give less than everything. Rodney was too old to fall in love like this decades ago; he feels a lot younger now.
