This is brilliant. I don't even know where to start; everything's so well realized—the Doctor's peripheral awareness of Martha, the way his mind works, the sound that eats sound, the chill in the innocuous start, the first time Jamie appears and he's so real in you writing that it's a bit like getting punched, Susan and the way he subtly changes around her to really be her Grandfather, the scene between Eight and Leela and the way it ran the gamut from horrific to sad to laugh-out-loud funny in places, the scene with Rose, Romana and her eternal equipoise, the Doctor and Martha sitting and waiting for the ghosts to pile up on top of them. Every era feels real, immediate, and like itself—God, I wish I could do that.

Straight into my memories, this.
